New employees without a P45, and anyone who needs to declare a student or postgraduate loan to ensure the right deductions start. Employers can also use it even if you later provide a P45.
Directly to your employer. They’ll use the details in their first Full Payment Submission (FPS) to HMRC and keep the record for the current and next 3 tax years.
